SBI PO 2017

Recruitment for the post of Probationary Officers in State Bank of India conducted every year in April-May 2017. Selection for the post of Probationary Officers will be through a competitive Examination in three phases i.e. Online written examination (prelims and mains), Group exercises and Interview.

SBI PO Notification 2017

State Bank Of India released the notification for the recruitment of 2403 posts of Probationary Officer. This recruitment process is for the post of PO in State Bank of India and its Associate banks. The selected candidates are liable to be posted all over India.

SBI PO Salary

Starting basic pay is Rs. 27,620/- (with 4 advance increments) in the scale of Rs.23700-980/7-30560-1145/2-32850-1310/7-42020 applicable to Junior Management Grade Scale-I. They are also for eligible for D.A, H.R.A/Lease rental, C.C.A, Medical and other allowances & perquisites. The total minimum salary per annum is Rs. 7.93 lacs and maximum is Rs 12.95 lacs depending on place of posting and other factors.

SBI PO 2017 Exam Centre

While filling the online application for the post of SBI PO, candidates are required to select their preferred exam centres for SBI PO 2017, based on their convenience. However, the Bank may allot an other exam centre than the choices made by a candidate if there is non-availability of seats at preferred venues.

SBI PO Recruitment 2017

SBI PO recruitment exam is considered a little difficult compared to the other bank entrance exams conducted by IBPS. Each candidate will be required to obtain a minimum cut off score for each section of objective test separately for short listing for the Descriptive Test and Interview. The recruitment process for Probationary Officers at SBI consists of 3 stages:

1. Preliminary Examination

2. Main Examination

3. GD/Interview

SBI PO 2017 Exam Pattern

The SBI PO recruitment process consists of 3 stages as follows:

Phase I: SBI PO Preliminary Examination:

The Preliminary Examination (Online Objective Test) would be of one hour duration for 100 marks and will consist of 3 sections. Candidates must clear the minimum cut-off marks for each section. The cut-off marks for each section is decided by the Bank depending on the difficult of the test. The section-wise pattern of the marks is given below:

Phase II : SBI PO Mains Examination:

The SBI PO Main Exam will be of total 250 marks (objective test of 200 marks and a descriptive test of 50 marks). Both the Objective and Descriptive Tests will be online. Candidates must answer Descriptive test by typing on the computer. After completion of Objective Test, Descriptive Test will be administered. There is separate timing for each section.

Descriptive Test:

The Descriptive Test will be of 30 Minutes duration of 50 marks of English Language (Letter writing and Essay). The descriptive test will be in English and will be conducted through on line mode. There will also be a separate cut-off marks for the Descriptive Test.

Penalty for Wrong Answers (Preliminary and Main Objective examination):

There will be a penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests of both Preliminary and Mains exams. 0.25 marks will be deducted as penalty for wrong answer to a question that carries 1 mark.

Phase – III : SBI PO Interview:

Candidates who have been shortlisted in main examination will be called for an Interview. The centre, address of the venue, time & date of Interview will be informed to the shortlisted candidates in the call letter.

SBI PO 2017 Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must fulfill the following two criteria to be eligible for the SBI PO Exam 2017:

• Age Limit: The candidate must be 21 Years to 30 Years as on 01.04.2017 i.e. candidates must have been born between 02.04.1987 and 01.04.1996 (both dates inclusive)

• Educational Qualification: The candidate must be a graduate in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.
